I forgot to take a photo of myself with this cute little bag, so apologies, this is a screen shot, mid sentence, from the video I made a couple of weeks ago for my Instagram stories.

I’m titling this post “Sharing is Caring” because, while I am here to create fun, pretty things, I also love finding other creatives who are passionate about the same things as I am… Quality, attention to detail, and really connecting with your customers. And this is one designer I really wanted to share with you. Her name is Akosua Afriyie-Kumi, and her line is called AAKS. She has absolutely adorable bags that are all hand made in Ghana using traditional weaving techniques. This is the one I got.

I also love that this cute little bag matched my Peace Sign tee perfectly, but that’s not why I bought it.

When my bag arrived. I was so excited that it was not only just as cute as the photo, but really well made. There was even a hand written note. Not a typed note with a machine printed signature, and actual hand written note. From an actual person. Such a small gesture, but such a big deal. I appreciated the kind thoughtfulness, and the time. It made me feel like this small sale was more than just a sale, more than just another bag shipped out. That it meant something to her, and to the women that make her bags. And I support that, because making my customers feel important is one of my own priorities.

I am proud to share this story and this line with you all. I get nothing from it other than the joy of introducing you to something new from someone nice and I hope you will find her online! She has adorable things!
