Looks great in photos with this cute apron, and is a nice, refreshing finish to a heavy summer meal. Specifically this meal…

Mmm delish.

Country Style Pork Ribs

  • 10 country style pork ribs
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce
  • Preheat oven to 250º F
  • Place ribs in a shallow baking dish
  • Salt (if desired)
  • Spread garlic on the ribs, then place lemons on top
  • Bake for 2 hours

At this point, ribs should be tender. Drain any grease and pour the BBQ sauce over the ribs, then pop them back into the oven and bake for another hour at 200º – 250º F.

What you will pull out of the oven after that last hour is mouth watering.

Now, because there is only 2 of us, I adjusted the recipe for the amount I needed. And while you might be thinking, ugh geez, this takes over 3 hours to make, I’m here to tell you, that you need to not worry. Yes, it takes over 3 hours start to finish, but it’s mostly passive time. You really have under 30 minutes of Actual Work, especially if you’re like me, and purchase garlic already minced in the glass jar. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

To complete the meal, I also made black eyed peas, extra crispy tater tots and onion rings. There’s not a picture of the finished plate, because honestly, I just couldn’t get a good photo and we were hungry.

If you are looking for a sauce recommendation, try the Franklin’s Pork BBQ sauce. I love it so much that I also used it on everything on my plate. {Insert drooling emoji here}

For dessert, we had some fresh cut watermelon. (Sorry folks, no Harry Styles innuendos here) While my husband would have likely preferred berry cobbler or apple pie with ice cream, fresh fruit is a much healthier and lighter way to finish off a heavy meal.
